Marketing

A few years after Blue Horizon began attracting fans of the series, we discovered CafePress as a low-cost way of providing related material for those who wanted. Tee-shirts became available with various logos and artwork, as were mouse pads, cups, hats and a smattering of other small items. Our first hardcopy books of the collected stories began through CafePress' fledgling book printing, but later moved to Lulu Press for ease of production and a superior publication. However, marketing Blue Horizon-related errata was not well received. Although Readers liked the stories and the site enjoyed several years of fandom interaction, there did not appear to be much of a call for anything besides the books themselves. Although Ted, Eileen and Steve acquired various samples of everything we made available, sales to others were practically non-existent.  Fortunately through CafePress, we were not out any up-front money for the merchandise, so it was simply a matter of choice for the fans if they wanted them or not.  After a time, we discontinued our CafePress items, but if anyone should voice a desire for them, it would be a simple matter to reinstate them. Our storefront still exists with a few items I occasionally order for myself, but it has not been promoted or visited by anyone else in ages.

For now, the only Blue Horizon items available for purchase are our books. You may read them free online, or order hardcopies to take with you on commutes, vacations, etc. from our Lulu Press bookstore by clicking on the image of the books below.
